I am returning to an old inspiration here. I used to make a lot of artwork based on, or inspired by ammonites. I mostly used them for clay pieces, but also created prints and paintings with the theme.

My Dad used to find huge ammonites in Cotswold fields and he set some into a beautiful stone fireplace in our childhood home.

In my 20s, I used to forage for fossils in the local area. Here in Northern Nevada there are many places rich in fossils and cool stones, but I’m a bit of a chicken to hunt for them as the creepy crawly wildlife isn’t something I wish to tackle!
