Sunflowers and Tulips

30/52 Sunflowers and Tulips

This is the first little painting that I did on my trip to the coast. I will probably do some plein air painting on warm days, but I have carved out a little space with lots of light indoors for my main set up.

I used some gold gesso for fun! Never used it before and it has definitely taken me away from my earth colours phase. I like how smooth it makes the painting surface, but it was also a little distracting when working out my values. While I am away from home, I might try a few more paintings using the gold.
