Butterscotch anyone?

One of the reasons that I am working in still life at the moment, is that I don't have to think too hard about the painting subject. Focus can be on the work itself. The thing is, I struggle not to connect, even with a butterscotch candy!

Wherther's Original, is one of those few candies that can be found both sides of the pond. I have these sweeties as a kid in England and still have them as candies in America. I can't help but be transported to car trip memories at the seaside, or adding them to the Pick 'n' Mix bag from Regent's Arcade in Cheltenham.

I was definitely on a butterscotch trip painting this one.
