13/52 Abstracted Shoe

Since the lockdown last March, I have made lot’s of little oil studies. It brings a feeling of joy and gratitude to examine small things. Occasionally, the emotions attached to the item make me do a further study, but that of the emotions, or thoughts that are rattling around my mind. This is my pre-COVID world way of painting.

I felt those stirrings over the shoes (because who doesn’t have good feels over shoes??). While the last shoe painting was fresh, I made another based on it, hopefully giving a sense of lightness and play. Sometimes I have to let the thing go and just let spontaneity take over!
