When Life Gives You Lemons...

When life gives you lemons, make peace with it.

I worked on a still life with lemons this week. I wanted a light, neutral background, but it just felt a little too drab. I added an olive branch to the composition, which gave me the look that I wanted. It all felt very Mediterranean with the Sicilian lemons, so I feel justified in having poured myself a glass of Chianti to enhance the painting mood.
